KEFI Gold and Copper PLC is an exploration and development company with a focus on gold and copper. Its principal activities include the exploration of mineral deposits of precious base metals and other minerals that are capable of commercial exploitation, including topographical, geological, geochemical, and geophysical studies and exploratory drilling. It focuses on the Arabian-Nubian Shield and operates through the Mineral Exploration and Corporate segments. It has operations in Saudi Arabia, Ethiopia, Cyprus, Turkey, and Bulgaria. Its projects include the Tulu Kapi project, Jibal Qutman EL, and Hawiah EL.
KEFI confirmed the launch of development at the Tulu Kapi project in Ethiopia, targeting commissioning in late 2027 and full production in 2028. Final contracting packages have been secured. Lycopodium has begun as lead design and construction contractor, and field works on power connection and access roads are underway. The development finance totals $340m, plus $60m for the mining fleet and $30m for contingencies.
KEFI said finance closing followed Ethiopian parliamentary ratification in 2025; lender approvals of documentation are pending. It outlined use of non-dilutive instruments (Gold Streams and EthioPrefs). It also reported Saudi updates: Umm Hijlan licence award and a JV with Hancock Prospecting for Al Hajar North. The board plans a move to LSE Main Market, targeting 2028.
