KEFI Gold and Copper PLC is an exploration and development. Its principal activities are Exploration for mineral deposits of precious and base metals and other minerals that appear capable of commercial exploitation, including topographical, geological, geochemical, and geophysical studies and exploratory drilling; Evaluation of mineral deposits determining the technical feasibility and commercial viability of development, including the determination of the volume and grade of the deposit, examination of extraction methods, infrastructure requirements and market and finance studies; Development of mineral deposits and marketing of the metals produced. The Group has two principal operating activities, being mineral exploration and corporate activities.

KEFI confirmed the launch of development at the Tulu Kapi project in Ethiopia, targeting commissioning in late 2027 and full production in 2028. Final contracting packages have been secured. Lycopodium has begun as lead design and construction contractor, and field works on power connection and access roads are underway. The development finance totals $340m, plus $60m for the mining fleet and $30m for contingencies.
KEFI said finance closing followed Ethiopian parliamentary ratification in 2025; lender approvals of documentation are pending. It outlined use of non-dilutive instruments (Gold Streams and EthioPrefs). It also reported Saudi updates: Umm Hijlan licence award and a JV with Hancock Prospecting for Al Hajar North. The board plans a move to LSE Main Market, targeting 2028.
