Tullow Oil said it has agreed to terminate its rights to Kenyan royalty payments and back’in participation linked to the prior sale of Tullow Kenya BV, in exchange for an additional cash payment. The counterparty is Auron Energy E&P Ltd, an affiliate of Gulf Energy. Completion and receipt of funds are expected by Friday.
The original agreement, signed by Tullow Overseas Holdings BV, had provided for quarterly royalties tied to production and an option to participate in future development phases. The new transaction cancels those entitlements.
