The company generates revenue from natural gas and crude oil sales. Its reportable segments are; Ghana which generates key revenue, Non-operated, Kenya and Exploration.
Tullow Oil said it will reduce its board to cut costs. Chair Phuthuma Nhleko and several non-executive directors left with immediate effect. Roald Goethe was appointed independent non-executive chair. The company plans to refill key board roles while maintaining a smaller board.
The changes follow recent guidance that production next year is expected at the lower end of prior ranges and to decline the following year. Tullow said it is engaging with bondholders, commodity traders and other private sources on refinancing, exploring amend-and-extend and liability management options ahead of a bond maturing in May. The new chair highlighted a focus on advancing refinancing plans.
