QBT took delivery of its first third-party bitcoin mining rig from one of three ASIC manufacturers it is engaging with. Initial testing by US-based consultants is complete, and shipment to its Milan University lab is expected within a week. The manufacturer supplied source code, technical documentation, and a mining development kit to facilitate software porting and testing.
The R&D team is analyzing the rig’s software and ASIC architecture to port the software version of its Method C AI Oracle onto the rig’s operating system. The company said this version can run on the control board rather than inside the ASIC, reducing hardware integration work. Management is testing one manufacturer’s rigs at a time, with lab success preceding contractual discussions.
